Youngstrom went into the project blind.
He built the set, loaded it up, shipped it off and still does not know
what the finished product looks like.
Youngstrom,
a Stevens Point interior designer and artist and owner of kryoutARTS will be
among millions later this month to see the results of his labor materialize on
ABCÕs ÒExtreme Makeover Home Edition.Ó
The
first time IÕm going to see it is when the show airs,Ó he said. ÒIÕm feeling pretty good, but I am
anxious to see it.Ó
É
His
role was designing an area where they could put on the shows and escape for a
while.
Youngstrom
pulled together a cat walk, complete with photographers and snapping cameras,
and he also designed an old-time stage and props Ôso they can just pick up
whatever they want and perform,Ó he said.
There is sunshine, trees, a taxicab and others.
ÒHe was
so great to work with and his talent is immense,Ó said Sinead Omara, a producer
on the show. ÒI certainly appreciate all that he did.Ó
In all
YoungstomÕs donations totaled about $3,000, he said. For his efforts, he will also appear on the showÕs web site,
receive national recognition for his work and be able to use the experience as
part of his marketing efforts.
But
that is not the best part of it all, he said.
ÒYouÕre
actually helping someone change their life, youÕre contributing to someoneÕs
happiness and itÕs kind of cool, he said.
